Get fit in 2018 with our beginners course

If your New Year’s resolution is to exercise more then our award-winning running club can help you stick to it with the latest of our popular beginners courses, which starts on Wednesday January 10 at 6.30pm.

The six-week course, hosted by fully qualified leaders aims to improve participants’ fitness as well as teaching about technique. At the end of the course, the runners will ‘graduate’ with a 5k Parkrun at Ellenbrook Fields, Hatfield.

“You are more likely to keep your New Year’s resolutions if other people are involved and trying to get fitter as part of a group means you will get lots of support and encouragement,” said Oh Ladies chair Carrie Hudson.

“The first session is free so come and give it a try. We’ll do our best to help you achieve your running goals,” she added.

The rest of the course costs £27 which includes club membership for a year.

The beginners group will meet outside the Club de Havilland building behind the Herts Sports Village on the University of Hertfordshire’s de Havilland Campus.

Spaces are limited so to book or for more information contact us.

Oh! Ladies are back on track

The Oh! Ladies had to give each other some elbow room at their track session at Gosling Sports Park as they concentrated on running technique.

The group were put through their paces by Hatfield Sports Coach of the Year, Carrie Hudson and started with a dynamic warm up.

They then looked at improving their running motion by concentrating on arm movement and foot placement.

With the words “Elbows at 90 degrees” and “Remember pockets to chin” ringing in their ears the group set off round the track for a series of sprints.

For those who missed out on the session, there’s plenty of opportunity to try out the exercises at one of the Oh! Ladies group runs, held on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays or Sundays. See our timetable for details.

The Guv earns well-earned RecOh!gnition with award

The champagne (well, sparkling wine) was flowing as Oh Ladies chair Carrie Hudson celebrated winning Sports Coach of the Year at the recent Hatfield Sport and Community Awards 2016.

The award was for recognition of the efforts Carrie has put into making the Oh Ladies the leading running club in Hatfield.

“Winning this award is lovely, but it is down to the hard work and dedication from our leaders and members, that makes the Oh Ladies such a friendly, successful club”, Carrie said.
