Wear it Pink – Thank you ladies for showing your support

For the month of October, our Sunday club runs were turned pink.  Pink tutus and attire were seen on Sunday morning at Hatfield House gates, WGC town centre, Stanborough, Essendon and even the Luton Half Marathon.  We got noticed, there were high 5’s, toots, conversations and smiles from strangers and therefore we raised awareness.

Remembering the ones that lost their battle, those that have won their battle and those still fighting the fight.  Please check yourselves regularly.

We stand strong and we support each other, the OH way.

Thank you for wearing Pink.Oct 2015 003

Breast Cancer Awareness Month – Showing our Support

Supporting the Fight Against Breast Cancer

Supporting the Fight Against Breast Cancer

The Oh Ladies are showing their Support for the Fight Against Breast Cancer.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a worldwide annual campaign involving thousands of organisations, to highlight the importance of breast awareness, education and research and to show our support, we have dedicated our Sunday club runs to run in PINK. When we say pink, we also mean pink tutus.

Breast Cancer affects both women and men.   Please check yourself regularly and talk to doctors or friends if you have any concerns.  Lets support each other the Oh way.

Results W/E 17/10/2015

Huge congratulations to 5 Parkrunners on Saturday for getting out there and pushing hard.  This resulted in 3 PB’s and another close shave.  Angela Spicer 25:54, August Spicer 28:58, Louise Sopp 30:03 (46 seconds faster than her last PB), Mel Buchanan 32:21 and Milena Nuti who narrowly missed a PB by 6 seconds, which is a shame because she worked the finish line hill true grit style.

Also Maria Blythe has been adding more medals to her collection with a 10 miler in Brighton with a new PB of 1:33:51 and then Natalie Moore did a 10K recording 1:26 (but really it was 1:15, as she ran 11.52K) Well done ladies and girls.

Keep posting your results as I am watching you with proud eyes!

Willow 10K

Amazing turnout at the Willow 10K today with 20 Oh! Runners and many many more Oh! cheerers, Oh! marshals and Oh! families joining in. Plenty of great performances on a hot sunny morning starting with the junior 1K and going through each event – including the impromptu 11.5K race that a few of our Oh! runners completed after a detour due to a disturbed hornets nest! It turned into quite an adventure and like all the greatest adventures ended with a hug and a pint. It was a great day to be an Oh! lady, feeling proud and happy.

Inspire. Enable. Support.

There was brilliant turn out at our first ever track session on Monday September 28th which was supported by Jemma Simpson, Lornah Sportswear Ambassador. We all worked really hard and pushed ourselves as well as picked up some top tips. We are already planning the next one!
