Oh Ladies are in the pink!

Oh Ladies were pretty in pink as they marked Breast Cancer Awareness month in October with a special run and made a donation of £85 to Hertfordshire-based charity Fighting Breast Cancer .

The club’s regular Sunday morning session on October 23 was a vision in pink as the group donned tutus and tops in the colour and ran from Hatfield House to the fountain in Welwyn Garden City.

The club made a donation of £5 for each pink selfie they received from an Oh Lady.

Sunday 23rd Oct Pink Cake run £65.00 Kerching to Breast Cancer Ballerina and Self check pose!

Strike a pose… and self check!

Successful ROhd Trip for Bournemouth Marathon Festival

The Oh Ladies enjoyed their first ROhd Trip recently with a successful weekend at the Bournemouth Marathon Festival.

In a packed weekend, club members managed to cram in appearances at the Poole Park Run, the Bournemouth Supersonic 10k and the Half Marathon as well as a couple of local bars!

Angela Blundell was first Oh Lady home in the Bournemouth 10k in 55:59.

Next morning was the Half Marathon and with most of the Oh Ladies going for the sensible option of a stroll along the seafront, it was left to Paula Mummery, Donna Staughton O’Toole, Kirsty Lemare North and Mandy Tait to show what club members are capable of.

Paula smashed her PB, making 13.1 miles look like a gentle Sunday club run as she completed the race in a fantastic time of 1:56.

And with the Oh Ladies cheering them down the home straight, there were emotional scenes as Kirsty and Mandy both finished their maiden half marathons.

“I recommend cheering as much as running! Great to make others feel supported,” said Mel Lynch.

A big ‘Thank You’ to the staff at the New Westcliff Hotel, who made the club feel so welcome, and also to Maxine Goold and Allison Skeggs for organising the weekend.
